FLORENCE— One person is dead and another has been arrested after a shooting near downtown Florence, according to the Florence Police Department.
Dino Piere Scott was arrested soon after a July 3 shooting in the 700 block of West Evans Street, a spokesperson for the department said.
He and another manwere involved in an argument, and Scott allegedly retrieved a handgun and shot the other man multiple times, according to police.
First responders streamed through downtown Florence around 2:30 p.m. in response to the shooting. The man who was shot was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police arrested Scott without incident, police said.After a search, law enforcement searched a nearby residence and discovered a stolen gun that officials determined was the weapon used.

1 killed in early-morning shooting in downtown Charleston
Scott has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, possession of a stolen weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The identity of the person who died has not been released.
The Florence Police Department and Florence County Coroner are investigating.
